The Ripe Top 20 Playlist

[separator type=”thin”]

We’re relaunching The Ripe’s Top 20 playlists with a whole new Soundcloud channel dedicated to our favourite new releases. This couldn’t come at a better time, with one of the biggest playlists we’ve had in a while. As always, it’s our mission to showcase the best new local releases alongside a selection of the most buzz-worthy tracks from the broader blogosphere… and damnnn, cutting this week’s selection down to 20 tracks has been no easy feat. Somehow, we’ve managed to settle on a final collection.

Plenty of Aussies are dominating the web with quality new music. In the past few days, we’ve heard new tracks from POND, The PresetsVancouver Sleep Clinic, Twin Caverns and The Preatures. Meanwhile SAMPOLOGY has released a new track ahead of BLOOM V, alongside new stuff from Dugong JR, Jordan F, Wet Blankets, Young Franco and Black Banilla remixing Oscar Key SungsAll I Could Do‘. Also don’t miss the sweet new song from Melbourne group Alta.

Across the pond, emerging NZ band BROODS have just released their (phenomenal) debut EP, plus we have new music from the likes of BANKS (prod. by Shlohmo), Broken Bones and Lana Del Ray‘s soundtrack feature for a Disney movie. We’ve also thrown in a pair of killer remixes, comprising of Mount Kimbie remixing Kelis and Royal Refix‘s dope take on Of Monsters and Men. Happy listening!

Tom lives and breathes new music. He co-created The Ripe with Huw Nolan to fuel his sick obsession for local culture and use his experience in digital media and public relations to propel new music in to the broad realms of the inter-webs. Apart from what you see here on The Ripe, Tom listens to a lot of jazz music (weird, we know) and is always searching for the next big thing. Tom is a bit of nerd, he built our website from his bedroom and takes care of content, digital media, advertising and business direction. He is enthusiastic and energetic guy, attributed to his love of coffee and is in a serious relationship with his Mac Book Pro.
