The Ripe Guest Mix with RUFUS

Hardly half way through the year and RÜFÜS has already managed to fit a massive amount of action into 2013. The guys have had a prolific impact on the music scene for the relatively short time they’ve been together, including playing sold out parties in New York for an impressive crowd featuring LCD Soundsystem, Holy Ghost! and RAC. Luckily, amongst hit releases and national tours, the guys have had some time to put together a selection of their favourite tunes for this weeks Ripe Guest Mix.

Set to release their debut album Atlas in the coming months, Rufus whet our appetites with the latest release ‘Take Me. The runaway success of the pop-techno anthem saw the lads getting plenty of love on triple j and blogs around the world as well as embarking on a national tour.

Hitting up a massive 14 dates over about a month, the recently wrapped up Take Me tour saw Rufus play at some of the country’s best venues including sold-out shows at the Oxford Art Factory and Ding Dong Lounge. But despite this hectic schedule, the band assures us they have just finished a “sneaky last track” for the album, so more good things are sure to be on their way.

The Ripe Guest Mix with Rufus is a deep, grooving journey into the influences and interests of the Sydney based three-piece. Plenty of bass-full rhythms come through from names like Bonobo and Cassian, as well as first listens to new-unreleased tracks from Softwar and Lancelot and the new one from The Ripe homies Indian Summer. It’s action packed, it’s great listening and it’s up for free download. Get on it.
