GUINEAFOWL – Little Death (Make It Rain)

Sydney indietronic act Guineafowl have just let loose a little teaser of their upcoming second EP, I Hope My City Loves Me Still, with their new single ‘Little Death (Make It Rain).’ Two years have passed since the bands last EP, Hello Anxiety, which included memorable tracks ‘Botanist‘ and ‘In Our Circles.’ The release put Guineafowl’s main man Sam Yeldham on the music industry radar, seeing Sam and band playing Splendour In The Grass in 2011, touring with Portugal The Man, Foster The People and releasing and touring the EP in the USA.

New track ‘Little death (Make It Rain)’ places a heavy emphasis on synthesised melodies, although traditional instrumentation is still worked alongside the electronic elements. Jangling piano, crashing drums, electric guitar fills, and percussive claps combine with the synths before breaking out into a dreamy high pitched, very danceable synth riff, while “Make it rain” loops over and over in a catchy cry-out  chorus.

I Hope My City Loves Me Still is released on October 11th.
